Physicians Skips the “Band-Aid” & Rediscovers Preventative Health With Isagenix®

Dr. Nick Messina’s first reaction to Isagenix®?

“What’s in the canister?” laughs Dr. Messina. “I was afraid there would be something dangerous like stimulants or laxatives in it.”

Mystified by his patient’s rapid results and uncharacteristic energy levels, Dr. Messina was convinced that something in the 9-Day Cleansing and Fat Burning System was unhealthy. How else could this patient experience such incredible results?

Admittedly, Dr. Messina says his knowledge was limited because only about two weeks of medical school were spent studying nutrition. Still, he had to search further and get to what he thought would be the unhealthy root of his patient’s weight-loss and energy gain.

He spoke with the head of the Isagenix Research and Development Department. He read up on the ingredients listed on the product panels. He picked apart ever piece of information he received and to no avail. Finally, all there was left to do was try it for himself.

Starting with the 9-Day System and the following it with a 30-Day System, he had his nurses do clinical lab work on him to monitor and measure any changes. Then he nearly broke the deal off when he found out that he’d have to give up the daily caffeine habit that had been ingrained in his routine since medical school: two pots of black coffee and two bottles of diet coke. His curiosity piqued, he gritted his teeth and committed to the process. He was shocked when he lost 26 pounds* along with his long-standing addiction to caffeine.

The lightest he’d been in four decades, nurses began asking him what he was doing. “Ever since I was a little boy, I wanted to be a doctor to help people and make a difference,” shares Dr. Messina. “I strove to be that, but within a short period of time, teaching people how to take care of themselves and seeing 60 people a day burnt me to a crisp.”

But Isagenix changed it all. Now, rather than offering a “Band-Aid” for someone’s health, Dr. Messina encourages many of his patients to try to get their health on track with Isagenix. Seeing patients finally experience the life changes he entered the medical field for in the first place has been rewarding and it’s also transformed his perspective on how Isagenix is different than other network marketing companies.

“I used to feel it was unethical to share Isagenix with my patients and now I think it’s unethical to not share it with them,” says Dr. Messina. “And it’s also opening up a whole new opportunity to not only help other doctors create an extra stream of revenue, but also a personal income so they can have a plan for retirement.”

Dr. Messina says many doctors, especially from the Baby Boomer generation, are so burdened by their student loans from medical school and keeping up with their brick-and-mortar practices that they’re delaying retirement.

“I started my practice, borrowed a lot of money and worked really hard for five years to establish a six-figure income to pay off the debt,” explains Dr. Messina. “But then I had to work even harder to maintain that income. I have no problem with hard work, but when I work hard and establish a six-figure income with Isagenix, I will have to work less hard to maintain it because of the residual income aspect.”

Another perk? He’s still teaching others how to create a healthy lifestyle, fulfilling his ultimate calling. Now he’s turning his sights to Mexico where he went to medical school.

“People in Mexico are warm and outgoing and don’t have the inhibitions we do,” shares Dr. Messina. “They’re natural-born networkers, industrious and have no problem having an open conversation with a stranger. With the obesity epidemic and the economy stalled out, people want to do something on their own and earn money.”

Bottom line? Isagenix has provided him with an opportunity that working in a doctor’s office or a research facility could not.

“When I’m in the office, I can help one person at one time,” explains Dr. Messina. “With Isagenix, I can help a lot of people beyond the one-to-one situation of the office and change their lives.”
