Former Soccer Star Knows How to Set, Make Goals

As a former competitive soccer player, Nicole Stewart knows a thing or two about setting goals and achieving them. She never planned on becoming a successful international entrepreneur, but a series of unexpected events led her from the soccer field to building her Isagenix® business, helping her discover her ultimate purpose.

Nicole began playing soccer at age four. Her passion for the sport and her remarkable skills led her to play for the Canadian National Soccer Team and the 1995 Women’s World Cup Team. Eventually, she hoped to play in the Olympics. She thought a two-year stint at Florida State University would get her closer to that goal, but her plan didn’t quite unfold the way she imagined.

On her first day on campus at Florida State, a drunk driver struck her car, dealing her a series of severe injuries including a broken vertebra in her back and a broken tailbone. Determined to make it back to the soccer field, three weeks later she returned to the sport, but relied on pain relievers to perform.

After returning to Canada two years later with her graduate degree in hand, Nicole continued to play for the Canadian National Soccer Team. She had a wake up call when her coach suggested that she take some time off after noticing the pain and trauma she was suffering. Deep down Nicole knew it was the right thing and was secretly relieved to take a break.

Though she initially only planned to take a few months off, she hasn’t returned to the field since. After being introduced to Isagenix through a friend, she gained another passion: to learn more about Nutritional Cleansing and toxins, topics she’d never heard about in her graduate-level nutrition classes. Part of her research included trying the products — a decision that changed her life.

“Isagenix gave me my life back and feel like myself again,” shares Nicole. “I had lived medicated and in pain for so long that I didn’t realize how good my body could feel naturally.”

While working as a personal trainer, Nicole casually referred people to Isagenix, but didn’t actively commit to building her business. She was surprised and excited when a leader on her team invited her to attend 2006 Top Achievers.

“I couldn’t believe that she wanted me to attend and use a ticket on me,” says Nicole. “She must have seen something in me that I didn’t.”

Not only did the leader see something in her, but Nicole found it in herself that weekend. In fact, her personal discovery changed the course of her professional life.

“Everything just aligned, the company vision to help others, expand globally and build their philanthropic efforts all matched with what I wanted in life,” explains Nicole. “It was a turning point for me and I just had this feeling like I was coming home.”

Armed with a strong belief in the company, the product and its leaders, Nicole committed to building her business and worked her way up the ranks to 4-Star Golden Circle, 3-Star Crystal Executive. She was one of the recipients of the 2007 Isagenix Women of the Year award and currently serves on the Isagenix Information Technology Advisory Board.

Even with all of her success, Nicole’s love of international travel fueled her desire to expand her business globally starting in Hong Kong. She began by asking everyone she knew if they had contacts in the country.

“Somehow everything came together,” says Nicole. “I focused on building relationships, immersing myself in the culture and understanding how the values of Isagenix were similar to theirs.”

Nicole is currently learning Mandarin, has a team in both Hong Kong and Taiwan, and has traveled to the countries three times in less than a year. Her team calls itself “Global Unity” and their goal is to create global oneness through cultural diversity. She’s even teaching her 5-year-old daughter about other cultures and she’s learning Mandarin alongside her.

“Isagenix is a gift and the vehicle that has allowed me to utilize all of my past life experiences, talents and skills to become a leader,” shares Nicole. “I’ve found my purpose and have the ability to impact global health.”
