For the last 18 years, Shane can’t remember a day he didn’t struggle with health and weight issues. Unable fit into restaurant booths, fasten car seatbelts, and often in too much pain to put on his own socks — exercising seemed impossible. Having already survived one heart attack, the 45-year-old grandfather of eight didn’t know where his life was heading or if he had many years left until he discovered Isagenix®. “Over the years my weight gain had created considerable stress on my relationship with my wife and family,” recalls Shane of Washington. “I was lazy and slept a lot because everything hurt and I couldn’t get through the day without several naps.” In January 2008, motivated by his niece who had already begun the products and encouraged him to give them a try, he signed up for the 2008 IsaBody Challenge™. He never dreamed he’d have such incredible results or that a few months later he’d be wakeboarding and whitewater rafting like a professional, and happily buying a new wardrobe for his job as a manager of a large retail chain. As a third-place finalist in the Men 40-59 category of the Challenge, Shane proudly shed 101 pounds and dropped eight pant sizes* and says the feeling of accomplishment is incredible and that his health and weight challenges have nearly disappeared. “When I sit down, I can see my chest, stomach, hips, thighs and legs and it keeps me motivated,” shares Shane. It’s those realizations and milestones that push him to maintain his new healthy lifestyle and keep the weight off. He often receives compliments from friends, and can’t help but laugh when co-workers ask him “where’s the rest of you?” Shane not only regained his youthful health and energy, but also eliminated the self-esteem issues that put a strain on his marriage. “Now it feels like it did when we were first married,” says Shane. “My energy level and confidence are higher than they’ve been in many years and as a result our relationship has done a complete 180.” Inspired by his success, Shane’s 13-year-old son started drinking an IsaLean® Shake every morning and has seen dramatic improvements in both his energy level and focus at school. The two are already planning to use the Challenge prize money to take a father-son trip. As he talks about his future, Shane happily looks forward to just having the energy to spend time with his family, enjoying the life he feels he has been given a second chance to live.
