Nursing Student Takes “Fast” Out Of Fast Food
Sarah felt discouraged as she battled her weight and wished she had made healthier eating choices earlier on.
After high school, Sarah turned to fast food as a quick, convenient solution to fit in with her busy life. In fact, there was a period of time when all of her meals came from a drive thru.
By her mid-20s, Sarah began nursing school and also started working as a nurse technician where she was getting hands-on experience. As she began applying what she was learning to her everyday life, she quickly realized the ramifications her poor eating habits had on her body.
At her worst, Sarah could not climb a flight of stairs without getting winded. She felt like an 80-year-old woman trapped in a 27-year-old’s body.
A doctor’s visit revealed Sarah was suffering from a number of serious health issues and her weight was a whopping 256 pounds.
“I had gotten to the point where I felt like there was no hope,” she recalls.
She never envisioned being overweight during her adult life, but gaining the weight was easy and sometimes dieting felt useless.
Luckily, her older brother, also a chiropractor and Isagenix Associate, stepped in to help. He suggested she attend an Isagenix Opportunity Meeting in Kansas City, Mo. to learn more about Isagenix and see if she would be willing to try it. After listening to several inspirational stories, Sarah began to consider the possibility.
“I was skeptical at first because nothing ever worked for me,” she explains.
Starting with the 30-Day Cleansing and Fat Burning System, Sarah ended her first month 32 pounds* lighter. Ecstatic by her results she pushed herself even further and signed up for the 2011 IsaBody Challenge®.
“I thought ‘why not.’ I knew I was in this to lose weight and I thought I would try to win the Challenge as well,” she jokes.
Her hard work and determination paid off.
Sarah not only won second-place in the Women’s 18-35 Category, but her daily workouts helped her drop below 200 pounds. She was finally able to splurge and buy the clothes she was once only able to admire on the hanger.
Since her big win, Sarah has set a few more goals. First, she wants to become a member of the 100 Pound Club. To push her closer to her goal of losing just 16 more pounds to reach the club, Sarah entered the 2012 IsaBody Challenge and also adopted a puppy, which will need walks.
Next up: she and her husband Steve want to start a family.
“I was aware of the possible complications I could have being heavier and pregnant,” she explains. “It’s another reason why I want to lose weight and be healthy for life.”
