Before After Joseph P. Location: Winkler, Manitoba Age: 50 Was: Weight: 378 pounds Lost: 106 pounds* As Of: September 2011 “Diamond in the Rough” Rediscovers Dreams A painful divorce and custody battle left Joseph emotionally drained and unhappy. But, rather than turning to smoking or drinking 15 years ago, the former Canadian Armed Forces serviceman took to the fast-food drive thru and began eating. As the weight piled on, acceptance from his family diminished to almost no relationship at all. Alone and feeling discouraged, Joseph wasn’t sure if he’d ever be his same old self again. Then, he met his wife. “She saw me for who I was,” Joseph shares. “I was her diamond in the rough.” After Lorraine stumbled across Isagenix®, she was convinced that it was the answer to helping her husband get healthier and back on track to reaching his true potential. Joseph wasn’t so convinced, even after she showed him a DVD featuring people who had lost 100, 200, even 300 pounds* with Isagenix. “I thought they were probably paid the big bucks to say what they were saying,” laughs Joseph. “But, I looked for someone my own age and decided to track that person down to make sure it was true.” Joseph’s sleuthing skills led him to Mark W. of Colorado who had lost 300 pounds* with Isagenix. “He put me through to his coach, Al, who phoned me every day,” shares Joseph. “Al encouraged me through rough times and celebrated with me in the good times. His support has been priceless.” He also decided to sign up for the 2011 IsaBody Challenge® to sweeten the deal and give him extra motivation to go after his goals to lose more than 100 pounds. Together, Joseph and his wife partnered up for success and began ridding their diet of processed foods and replacing them with Isagenix products. Their favorite product is Cleanse for Life®. He even says he can “drink it like juice” because he loves it so much. The couple also began staying on the outer aisles of the grocery store shopping for fruits and vegetables instead of potato chips and soda. Another bonus? Since they were replacing meals, they noticed that their grocery bills were going down. With the extra money saved in their grocery budget, they used the money to put toward their product costs. After Joseph lost more than 100 pounds* during the IsaBody Challenge, the once size 50 also noticed that he began saving money on his clothes after reaching size 40.* “A pair of jeans at the big and tall store cost me $60, but then I would pay only $15 for a pair at the regular store,” says Joseph. “You can fit two of me in my old pair of pants now.” Awarded first place in the Men 36-49 Category of the Challenge, Joseph says his life is completely different. “I was truly given a new lease on life—my confidence is back,” says Joseph. “I’ve been changed from a fat man with a low self-image to a man who is loving and enjoying life.” Joseph and his wife now enjoy going back to the fast-food restaurant, but only to savor a cup of coffee and plan how they will tell others about Isagenix. The pair love traveling places, working out together and Joseph is looking forward to taking his fitness to the next level. “I’ve always loved fitness, but that dream was shattered when I gained all the weight,” explains Joseph. “Now I’m working on getting a fitness instructor’s license.” While Joseph has accomplished his initial goal to lose 100 pounds,* he says he’s still aiming higher. “Now I’m aiming for the 200-Pound Club,” shares Joseph. “I’m giving my wife her dream, so she can walk down the street with a man in good shape and it feels so good.” The individuals pictured are actual Isagenix Associates and not paid models. *Weight loss should not be considered typical. In a study performed in 2012 by University of Illinois at Chicago researchers, subjects lost an average of 9 pounds with an average of 2 pounds of the loss from visceral fat after 30 days on an Isagenix system. The subjects also had a greater level of adherence and had more consistent weight loss from week to week compared to subjects on a traditional diet. **Earning levels for Isagenix® Associates should not be construed as representative of fixed or typical incomes earned with an Isagenix business, nor are they intended to represent that other Associates will eventually achieve the same level of income. Income level achievements are dependent upon individual business skills, personal ambition, timing, commitment, activity and demographic factors. Isagenix Millionaires are defined as Isagenix Associates who have cumulatively earned $1 million or more with Isagenix.
