From Deflated Dreams to “Rising Star,” Couple Finds Success With Isagenix®

Robin thought she was through with direct sales and network marketing. Her experience with another company had soured and come to an unexpected and abrupt end. After 20 years with that company, she and her husband Stryker found themselves in a financial crisis because of their sudden income loss. In an effort to rebuild their lives, the couple decided to open a wellness center in their Texas town. While it seems like owning your own business would offer greater flexibility, Robin and Stryker felt confined by the regular hours and pressures of running a brick-and-mortar business. Then opportunity came knocking in the form of Isagenix® 5-Star Golden Circle Hilari, a stay-at-home mom. 

At first, Robin was resistant to Hilari's encouragement to try Isagenix and its products. She and her husband just weren't ready to dive back into an industry they had lost faith in. But Hilari kept at it, eventually sending the couple a package of products to try. 

"The product is what sold us on the business," explains Robin. "There's a great financial reward that's possible with Isagenix, but if someone goes into this opportunity strictly for financial gain and not what it can do for their health or other people's health, any success they'll have will be hollow. This is about health and wealth and we were interested in both."

In the beginning, it was difficult for Robin and Stryker to afford products, as their income barely covered living essentials and monthly bills. But they were determined and quickly began sharing their product success with family and friends. Six-Star Golden Circle Lenny Evans challenged them to become Crystal Executives and attend the 2007 "Changing Lives" Celebration in Las Vegas, which was only three weeks away. Within two weeks, they accomplished this goal.* In the initial weeks of pursuing their business, the couple enrolled 40 people and soon, they were attending events on a regular basis, meeting top earners and growing their belief in the company and business, steps Robin says were "crucial" to their success. Their motivation, somewhat born from their financial desperation, was also a key to their accomplishments.

"We didn't just set out hoping this would work," shares Robin. "We set out knowing this was going to work. That's the power of intention. We had that from day one."

Now, just over a year since they started their Isagenix business, they no longer run a wellness center, but instead are 4-Star Golden Circles aiming for 5,000 Associates in their downline and 5-Star Golden Circle status by their 18-month anniversary. Robin and Stryker agree that their belief in the network marketing industry has taken a 180-degree turn for the better. They credit Co-Founders Jim and Kathy Coover and the stellar compensation plan that's "so easy" to understand and get people excited about, compared to the previous company she worked with.

"Within the first 60 days of working the business, we had the chance to meet the Coovers in person and feel their depth of commitment," says Robin. "I get tears in my eyes when I think about what Isagenix has done for us, because I didn't experience that in the other company I gave almost two decades of my life to. They really care about us and we want to make them proud and let them know how grateful we are. They gave us the gift of Isagenix and our gift in return is to make the most of it that we possibly can."

Awarded the "Rising Star" award at the 2008 "Commitment to Greatness" Celebration, Robin and Stryker were surprised by the recognition, but felt it was just another affirmation that they were right where they were intended to be.

"We're so grateful for all of the leaders we've had the opportunity to learn from. We stand on their shoulders and they blaze the trail for us," shares Robin. "People can move rapidly in this company because we have such amazing leadership. We also credit our tremendous team and their achievements. We didn't do this by ourselves."

Tips for Business Success:

  • Don’t look at the business opportunity as "selling," but more as "referring." Just like how you'd recommend a restaurant in town, approach talking about Isagenix® in the same way and share your experience.
  • Plant the seed with product users to become business builders by simply asking them as they start their program, "When Isagenix works for you, will you be able to be quiet about it?" Get them to agree up front that they would be willing to share their positive experience and results with others.
  • Attend events. They're the best way to gain knowledge about the products and business opportunity as well as belief in the company.
  • Surround yourself with people who are successful and positive. You are the sum of the people you spend most of your time with.
  • Find people who are networkers by nature and know a lot of people such as hairdressers and realtors. When they experience success, they'll lead you to more people.
  • Keep your interactions with others about the products light and fun. Include humor in your discussions and plenty of excitement
  • Set an example for your team and make sure you're a "product of the product."
  • Spend your time talking about Isagenix with people who are open. If someone is not interested, move on and don't let it hurt your feelings. There are plenty of people who are ready to try Isagenix right now, others will take time or may never come around. Just keep sharing what Isagenix has done for you!
