FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – CHANDLER, AZ – February 4, 2009

Isagenix International L.L.C. today announced an expansion of its voluntary recall of the Isagenix® Branded Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut IsaLean® Bar and the recall of selected lots of the IsaLean Peanut Crunch Bar because both products contain peanut based ingredients that are part of an expanded recall by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) dating back to January 1, 2007. PCA is the focus of a Salmonella investigation by the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Isagenix, through its contract supplier is no longer using PCA as a peanut ingredient supplier.

Consumer safety is our number one priority. Unfortunately Isagenix, along with many other leading manufacturers have been impacted by the new findings of the FDA investigation. To minimize any further potential impact, we have elected to recall all products that contain peanut ingredients that came from PCA. This includes both PCA’s Georgia facility, which is the subject of the FDA investigation and PCA’s Texas facility which is not currently subject to the investigation.

Isagenix’s Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut IsaLean® Bar (UPC # 602410) and Peanut Crunch IsaLean Bar (UPC # 602421) are sold nationwide through a network of independent direct sales distributors.

If you have any Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut IsaLean® Bars (any lot #) in your possession, please immediately destroy.

If you have any Peanut Crunch bars purchased prior to January 1, 2009 in your possession, please immediately destroy. If you have a Peanut Crunch bar with the lot number 12390208 or 12390708, the peanut ingredients did not come from PCA and the lot numbers are not subject to this recall.

Customers seeking a replacement bar are being asked to call an Isagenix representative at 1-877-877-8111 * and a replacement product will be issued.

The voluntary recall does not apply to the Chocolate Crunch IsaLean® Bar, the Yogurt Dipped Oatmeal Raisin IsaLean® Bar or any other Isagenix products.

There have been no cases of illness or adverse effects reported by any Isagenix customers, and no other Isagenix products are affected by this recall. No Salmonella contamination has been detected in the Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut Bar or the Peanut Crunch Bar. This voluntary recall is in line with FDA recommendations and Isagenix has removed these bars from existing inventory.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and other with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. For more information on Salmonella, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Web site at www.cdc.gov (or call 1-800-232-4636).
