Heavy Equipment Operator Gains Control On Her Weight*
For years, toxicity wreaked havoc on Shauna’s life. A heavy equipment operator at a local landfill, she was not only surrounded by waste on a daily basis, but the loss of her brother, best friend and her father had sent her into a tailspin. Her lifelong battle with her weight spun out of control as she turned to food for comfort.
“I was going through a lot of emotional trauma,” shares the 38-year-old from British Columbia. “I chose food to heal the pain, but all it did was lower my self-esteem.”
But since discovering Isagenix® and the 2009 IsaBody Challenge® , Shauna gained a new lease on life.
“I never in a million years thought I could be an inspiration to other women and now I feel like I’ve been given a new chance at life,” says Shauna. “I finally feel whole and alive and Isagenix is a big part of that.”
Nearly a year ago, Shauna and her husband accompanied her friends on a luxurious vacation to Mexico. At the time, all she worried about was enjoying the beach and the sun on her vacation. However, when she returned home and saw the pictures of herself, she broke down and sobbed for days. The images served as a sobering and hurtful reality check.
Rather than wallowing in self-pity over her weight, the event flipped a switch in Shauna and she decided to take action. Introduced to Isagenix by some girl friends, she immediately signed up for the 2009 IsaBody Challenge® and embraced it with gusto, setting goals to exercise daily. She even turned to her 5-year-old daughter for inspiration on her journey to improved health and fitness.
Each morning after she prepared breakfast for her 5-year-old daughter, she would walk and eventually run on the treadmill while her daughter sat nearby at the dining room table.
“My daughter has been my little coach and inspiration from the beginning,” shares Shauna. “Every day she would ask me if I was going on the treadmill and if it was my ‘juice day’ on my Cleanse Days.”
Within months, Shauna achieved her first goal and a short time later she hit her second milestone. She celebrated with her coach by tackling Grouse Grind, a grueling 2.9 kilometer hike in Vancouver the locals dub “nature’s Stairmaster.” While most beginners take an average of two hours to complete it Shauna, who could only walk 10 minutes on the treadmill when she first started exercising, did it in only 80 minutes on her first try.
“I could never have imagined I could do anything like that,” admits Shauna. “It used to be totally out of my league.”
Even though Shauna spends every day in a toxic landfill, her health and attitude are anything but. The new Shauna is brimming with self love that has spread to her daughter and husband Robbie, who also was able to control his weight with Isagenix. The heavy equipment operator who never went shopping is even enjoying girlie dresses from regular stores instead of the plus-size shops.
The first-place winner in the Women 36-49 Category of the 2009 Challenge, Shauna is quick to encourage others to take the next step and follow the path she took to improved health and self-confidence.
“Don’t hesitate for a minute to commit to Isagenix,” says Shauna. “Rise to the occasion because it’s all a positive change that will transform your life in ways you can’t even imagine.”
Shauna says she can’t help but share her excitement and passion for Isagenix with everyone she meets and has even started her own Isagenix business. She hopes to purchase an RV so she can travel around the country sharing her story and inspiring others.
“Every day I feel like my journey is just beginning,” shares Shauna. “I’m going to be healthy for the rest of my life and Isagenix will be a part of it forever.”
